My speech at the annual Economic Ideas Forum of «Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies Institute».
«I would like to stay in the three hundred billions of Euros that President Juncker has announced at his priority. I think there is a misunderstanding there because this amount of money is not concerning only the public sector , it is also concerning the private sector and I think that the main issue is the way we attract the private sector. I would like to put a political issue , we need further reflect on this matter and be more specific because it is very important for the essence, as well as for our credibility to specify where this money will come from. It is important and we have to intensify the sources and describe how we are going to leverage the money. Because we had the hearings in the parliament and over the last two weeks we had a number of Commissioners referring to these hundred billions of Euros as a source of investments in their own area of competence, but they are not giving us details.
And I think that if we are going to attract any funds from the private sector and from private investors , we need to be more specific. We need to explain how exactly we are planning to leverage this money and what financial instrument we are planning to use.
I think we have to work out how to think «in and out of the box» , we have to find ways to open the banks of Skroutz Mac Duck , not only because of the problems of the South but because of the slowness of Germany.
And we have to answer this question immediately».
